Company Drill and Fire Work Standbye
Fri. Jun 11th 2010

Captain Strauss decided it was time to implement the Bundle technique that was taught to us last year by Department member Nick Knechel; she had the members pull the 1-3/4" Cross lay (AKA: The forbidden to pull unless your life depends on it line") and had the members repack it in the bundle fashion.  If you would like to know more about this technique you can go to You-tube and search fire bundles and watch the video.  This will not only save time and energy but will prevent firefighters from injuring themselves by trying to rush and flake the line out.

Since there aren't a lot of funds in the department we decided to make due with the equipment we had and made our own nozzle.  We are thinking about putting this on our first due attack line!  (This is just a JOKE, we are not serious).

We then proceeded down to the Lambertville Station for our first Fire works standby on the Delaware.  Unfortunately we have yet to see these illusive fireworks because minutes before they were scheduled to go off a Level 2 fire came in at the Justice Center.  (Smoke in the building, unknown source).  I must add that it is very interesting to arrive on scene and step off the truck to the very loud noise of fireworks going off; flash back to a past fire call where ammunition was going off in a residence.

Below are some photos from the night...
